Selection Process for Career Position:

The applicant’s qualifications, education and employment history will be evaluated from the application/resume received. Certifications must be included with your application including military service papers with honorable discharge. Please contact Shoshone County District #2 Fire at 208-784-1188 for application paperwork.     

All candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be contacted to take the written examination. All candidates taking the written exam will be required to take the physical ability test. If you cannot bring turnout gear, including gloves and helmet, please call 208-784-1188 to arrange for gear prior to the testing date. SCBA will be provided.

The candidates with the highest combined scores will participate in first-round oral interviews before panels which will include fire, emergency medical and public safety professionals

Candidates will be ranked based on cumulative scores and the successful candidate will be offered a tentative employment offer. Remaining candidates will be placed on an eligibility list for one year.

Successful candidates will begin work on a normal rotating schedule beginning in March 2018.
Salary: 56hr work week salary base pay ranging from $11-$13 an hour / Health Ins / PERSI pension plan

Physical agility test: Feb 24th, 2018 1100 hrs. Wallace High School
Panel Interviews: Feb 24th, 2018 1300 hrs. Wallace High School
